This Week at The Marram School - March 2-5, 2015

On Monday, we learned about Gyrfalcons and Nilgais in Animals Class.  We also learned about bullfighting.  For art, one of our students wanted to learn about shading, so we started a simple beginning shading project.  The kids had fun discussing what the shapes looked like – everything from tornadoes to a snake that just ate.

The Tuesday students, enjoyed the obstacle course in gym today we continued our discussions about Lord of the Flies, A Girl of the Limberlost and My Side of the Mountain in the book groups.  We had a longer drama class in preparation for the upcoming play.  During art, students learned about perspective through a simple but fun activity. We also began a series of experiments to learn more about air in preparation for building rockets for our water rocket launch this spring.

Thursday was filled with more student-designed obstacle courses and made-up games in gym. We worked on a puzzle maze in math games, and some students worked on their algebra. We made lentil soup and baked cauliflower during cooking and baking. The students learned about some special moves in chess and spent time playing and making crafts, too.
